Waapihk Research is an organization specialized in research, analysis and strategic support for Indigenous communities. Through its projects, publications and initiatives, the organization develops deeply human and collaborative approaches aimed at better understanding issues related to health, well-being, education and Indigenous community realities.

In a landscape often shaped by rigid institutional approaches disconnected from lived realities, Waapihk sought to develop a digital presence that felt more modern, accessible and aligned with its values of listening, respect and knowledge sharing. The organization partnered with Nara Creative to modernize its website and expand its visual universe while preserving the warm, professional and deeply human approach at the core of its mission.

Creating an experience that feels more fluid, accessible and aligned with the organization’s mission

The goal of the project was not simply to modernize the look and feel of the website, but rather to create a digital environment capable of better supporting the reading, discovery and distribution of the research content produced by Waapihk.

Particular attention was also given to the overall feel of the platform. Waapihk wanted to preserve a visual approach that felt soft, open and welcoming while strengthening the clarity of the content and the professional character of the organization.

We developed an approach combining UX/UI redesign, content structuring and visual modernization in order to transform the existing platform into an environment that feels clearer, more accessible and better suited for showcasing and distributing Waapihk’s research content.

BRANDING AND VISUAL GUIDELINES

We expanded the existing visual identity by developing a series of graphic treatments and visual elements designed to bring greater cohesion, warmth and personality across the entire platform while preserving the organization’s professional character.

The art direction work aimed to create a more modern and harmonized visual universe capable of better reflecting Waapihk’s human, collaborative and accessible values. Colors, compositions, typographic treatments and graphic elements were carefully designed to create a warmer and more recognizable experience across the organization’s different digital touchpoints.

COMPLETE WEBSITE REDESIGN

The website was completely redesigned in order to improve navigation, content discovery and the overall organization of the different resources available throughout the platform. Particular attention was given to readability, visual rhythm and content hierarchy in order to create an experience that feels more intuitive and enjoyable across both desktop and mobile devices.

The objective was also to build a platform better suited to showcasing Waapihk’s research, publications and initiatives while making the content easier to access for different types of users. The new structure now offers a smoother and more cohesive browsing experience across the organization’s resources while delivering a digital environment more aligned with Waapihk’s professionalism and human-centered approach.

SOCIAL MEDIA TEMPLATE

A series of cohesive social media templates was designed to support Waapihk’s future publications across social platforms while ensuring a natural continuity between the organization’s different digital tools and communication channels.

The various templates were developed to help the team communicate different types of content more efficiently while maintaining a professional and consistent presence online. The visual approach builds upon the graphic language established for the website in order to reinforce brand consistency and create a more recognizable experience across Waapihk’s digital communications.
