Creating an educational platform designed to inform, support, and reassure
Knowing Diabetes is an educational platform designed for people living with diabetes and their loved ones. Through informative content, educational tools, and specialized resources, the organization aims to make information more accessible, human, and easier to understand.
Our mandate was to design the entire visual universe and digital experience of Knowing Diabetes from the ground up. This included the complete creation of the visual identity, logo, and web platform, as well as the development of an extensive modular illustration system designed to support users throughout the platform’s educational content and learning journeys.
Designing an accessible, inclusive, and scalable experience
The project represented a significant challenge from both a creative and functional perspective. The platform needed to support a large volume of educational content while remaining easy to navigate, reassuring, and accessible to a highly diverse audience.
A central part of the mandate was also to develop an illustration system flexible enough to allow the organization to create an infinite variety of new characters, scenes, and situations as the platform evolves. The goal was to build a visual environment that felt human, inclusive, and easily adaptable to future content needs.

We developed a comprehensive approach combining branding, UX/UI design, custom illustration, and web development to build a complete digital ecosystem capable of supporting Knowing Diabetes’ educational and long-term growth needs.
Complete brand identity creation
We designed the entire visual foundation of Knowing Diabetes, including the logo, color palette, typography, and graphic elements required to create a brand that feels accessible, modern, and reassuring.
Development of a modular illustration system
An extensive library of custom illustrations was developed to support the platform’s educational content. Characters, accessories, expressions, and scenes were designed in a modular way, allowing the organization to easily create new situations and visual representations as its needs evolve.
Design and development of the web platform
The web platform was fully designed and developed to facilitate access to educational content and the platform’s various resources. Special attention was given to information hierarchy, content readability, and seamless navigation.
Creation of an advanced member area
We developed a registration system allowing users to access a more complete educational platform featuring additional content and advanced resources tailored to different user profiles.
Inclusive and scalable art direction
The entire visual universe was designed to represent a wide range of profiles, realities, and situations. This approach allows the platform to maintain a human, accessible, and cohesive identity across all current and future content.
