AXIS is a Montreal-based 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping company whose expertise attracts industrial designers, mechanical engineers and product development specialists, to name a few. As one of the largest competitors in the Canadian market, AXIS offers a score of materials and finishing options to fit the broad demands of their clients, completing their products in minimal time with maximized cost efficiency.
Design, consultation, 3D printing, 3D scanning, AXIS offers a complete services set.
AXIS turned to NARA in November 2017, when the company decided to elevate its online presence through improved digital efforts and search engine optimization. In the highly competitive field of additive manufacturing, AXIS needed to be capable of evolving its image and services at the same pace as industry developments.
Our team approached the challenge of rebuilding the website with a focus on aesthetic modernization and improved functionality. This included rebuilding a quote form for customers, generating content, and addressing any needs that AXIS, or its sister company GENISTAR, required when it came to website aide, new visuals, or physical documentation. NARA also fully revitalized AXIS’s search engine optimization (SEO) efforts to improve their ranking in search results and direct traffic to the site with the intent of turning visitors into customers.
To best serve AXIS, we first had to do a thorough investigation of the Rapid-Prototyping industry, analyzing both the services our client provided and the corporate audience to whom they would be catering. This analysis was essential to the design process of the website and search engine optimization, as it indicated the audience we would be targeting with our efforts. AXIS clientele is mostly comprised of engineers and product developers looking for industrial, high-grade services, and the website needed to reflect a clean, modernized image that highlighted the capabilities and trust AXIS assures.
With the targeted clientele in mind, our goal was first to improve the function of the site by making it more mobile and user-friendly. We then focused on creating quality content, such as case studies and blog posts, where we could bolster AXIS’s reputation while at the same time optimizing text to cater towards industry search terms thereby improving SEO results. This is a process we constantly refresh to keep AXIS up to date and competitive with industry standards, ensuring that search result traffic increases in long-term projections. The generation of backlinks to relevant third parties also reinforces the strength of our search engine optimization tactic, while increasing the referred traffic by additional margins.
In addition to its improved website, AXIS also required an augmented quote form for clients to evaluate the costs of their projects. To create the ideal version of the form we needed to approach the design process from both a client and commercial based perspective to generate an outcome that was efficient, user-friendly, and ultimately self-sustaining.
Finally, the design of the site itself needed to be as sleek as it was comprehensive while maintaining the original, and most importantly recognizable, AXIS brand. We built multiple versions of the platform which were then reviewed by the client until we zeroed in on the perfect aesthetic match. AXIS’s team had to be capable of easily controlling and updating the site as needed, so we worked closely to ensure it had the highest quality visuals in addition to simple functionality for the client.

The website has been designed and built for compatibility across all platforms.
After launching the site and new quote form, we then analyzed the result of site-traffic using digital tracking tools provided by our team in conjunction with commercial reports supplied by AXIS.
These reports allowed us to evaluate the health of the site and generate recommendations on ways to improve performance, convert more users and, ultimately, drive more organic traffic. We continuously work on updating the web page as well as creating new features and content to keep the platform competitive and functional for AXIS and their clientele. Our review and refresh process included constant A/B testing for all of our strategies to ensure they are performing at top optimization.
Nara’s team manages and executes Axis Prototypes’ communication strategy by integrating new trends and tools to maximize our market performance.
As part of a medical research program on type 1 diabetes, McGill University and the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal wanted to implement an educational platform accessible to people with this type of diabetes. This platform, called Type1Support, aims to educate users by offering them educational content to better manage their disease on a daily basis. The platform educates users by offering online courses and awards them a certificate after completing the six courses.
